Father’s Day is approaching…

We launched our website 6 months ago and made the point about us still learning and nowhere close to perfect. During this period, we have received feedbacks from you and are looking into making improvements in various aspects of our service. One area of the comments is how we could make our website and viewing of our inventory more user-friendly. While that is being worked on, we would like to send out our current wine list per the attached Excel file so that you can easily have an overview.

All are excellent wines, most of which we had a first-hand experience before stocking them. You will see that almost all have been rated 95 points or above. With Father’s Day coming in less than 3 weeks, a bottle of wine will be a perfect gift.

If we are to specifically recommend a few, you may want to consider the reds from the Rhone Valley. These are usually more of a full body wine with complexity, great to drink now but will also keep for another 5-10 years.

The other interesting group consists of the Italian reds made of the Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Merlot grape varietals i.e.

2010 Montevetrano (WA96) at HK$430/bottle – A vibrant, aromatic and silky wine from Campania that is a proprietary blend consisting of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot.

2012 Oreno Sette Ponti (JS97) at HK$420/bottle – From Tuscany, this is a 50/40/10 blend of Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Petit Verdot with flavour of blackberry, dark chocolate and spice.

2015 Petrolo Galatrona Valdarno di Sopra (WA96) at HK$650/bottle – From Tuscany made of predominantly Merlot, it is intense, soothing and with depth, giving a lasting palate of dark fruit, chocolate and expresso. One of our personal favourites…

2013 San Giusto a Rentennano la Ricolma (WA97) at HK$500/bottle – From Tuscany made of almost all Merlot, this is a wine of intensity, confidence and grace. Less than 5,000 bottles produced.

2007 Tua Rita Giusto di Notri (WA95) at HK$550/bottle – From Tuscany of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon blended with small portions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this is a highly enjoyable wine endowed with dark fruits, having good depth and richness, all achieved without heaviness.

These are outstanding wines at valued prices in their own rights. For Bordeaux lovers, there is the additional angle to see how they would be compared with Bordeaux reds made of the same grape varietals.

If you are interested to purchase anything, simply send us an e-mail, or even by WhatsApp to 9195-7383. Thank you for reading and Happy Father’s Day!!!
