This is the time when we are looking forward to the holidays ahead of us and perhaps also reflecting on what we have achieved during the year, what could have been done better and what we may pursue next year. For us at Vinopolis, we just feel blessed to get started and are extremely grateful of your support in the last few months. We also realize the many things we need to improve but you can be sure of our continuous commitment to bring you wines of great value.

Many wine merchants are doing Christmas promotions. We debated ourselves but have concluded that our prices are already at the lowest level we could afford to offer. It is only appropriate for us to think more about Champagne during this festive season. Famous names like Dom Perignon and Krug need no introduction. But we want to recommend you to explore the “growers’ Champagne”. These are from smaller producers, many used to be supplying big Champagne houses but more recently are doing it for themselves. Their products often offer much better value. In our inventory, we have the following in limited quantities:

2012 Agrapart Mineral Blanc de Blanc Extra Brut (WA95) at HK$670/bottle – Made entirely with Chardonnay, it is crisp, complex, intense and yet totally balanced.

2013 Marie-Courtin Efflorescence Extra Brut (WA95) at HK$530/bottle – Made entirely with Pinot Noir, it is more “round” on the palate, offering a delicate, floral bouquet of great elegance.
